Shark WoodStain Plus Gloss Toa Shark Woodstain Gloss is formulated from alkyd resin and translucent pigments. Paint film is highly flexible and prevents water penetration. FEATURES Shark Wood Stain Gloss is based on flexible alkyd resin, special additives and transparent pigments. The properties of this product are high gloss, high film build, waterproof, good leveling, anti-fungi, and good UV resistance. Suitable for exterior and interior protection of all woodworks such as wooden house, wooden boat, wooden furniture and etc.
APPLICATION SYSTEM Surface Preparation
Old surface
For coated wood or wood with old or peeling paint film or old wood with no coating.
Sand with abrasive paper to the wood surface.For coated wood which coating film still in good condition.
Sand over the painted film with TOA Abrasive Paper No.240-320
then clean the surface to remove grease, dust, oil or dirt.
New surface
1. Use Toa abrasive paper no. 240 – 320 to sand the wood surface until smooth.
2. Fill all wood crack and hole by filler.
3. Sand again until the smooth surface is obtained.
4. Clean the surface until no dust remain.
Coating system
Primer
Apply by brush with TOA Wood Preservative 1 coat. (Recoatable time is at least 30 minutes)
Topcoat
1. Mixing ratios between Shark Wood Stain Gloss and Toa Thinner No.21 are 5 : 1 for first coat and 10 : 1 for second and third coat, respectively.
2. Apply by brush with Shark Wood Stain Gloss at least 3 coats. (Recoatable time is at least 8 hours)
3. Before topcoat any layer, Toa abrasive paper no. 320 – 400 are recommended to sand the surface which provide good intercoat adhesion and smooth the surface.
Recommendation
The temperature of the substrate should be minimum 10 ํC and at least 3 ํC above the dew point of the air, temperature and relative humidity measured in the vicinity of the substrate. Good ventilation is required in confined areas to ensure correct drying.
HANDLING AND STORAGE
Storage condition
The product must be stored in accordance with national regulations. Keep the containers in a dry, cool, well ventilated space and away from source of heat and ignition. Containers must be kept tightly closed.
