TOA Aluminium Wood Primer Toa Aluminium Primer G-1601 is formulated from alkyd resin and Aluminium powder, which is small up to micron size. It excellently absorbs into wood with high adhesion and protects wood from wood gum.

FEATURES Toa Aluminium Wood Primer G1601 is base on high quality alkyed resin and micronized aluminium pigment. The properties of this primer are good penetration into the solid wood , good adhesion on the wood surface and excellent tannin blocking. Recommend to use as a tannin blocking primer for Teak,Red wood ,Makha and etc..
APPLICATION SYSTEM Surface Preparation
Old surface
1. Chalky surfaces or loose material must be removed by stiff brush.
2. The surfaces must be clean and free of dirt,wax,salt,old paint and other contaminants.
New surface
1. Use TOA abrasive paper no. 240 - 320 to sand the wood surface until smooth.
2. Fill all wood crack and hole by filler.
3. Sand again until the smooth surface is obtained.
4. The surfaces must be clean and free of dirt, grease, oil, wax, salt and other contaminants.
Coating system
Primer
1. Apply by brush or spray with Toa Aluminium Wood primer G1601 at least 1 coats.
(Recoatable time is at least 4 hours)
2. Apply by brush or spray with Toa universal undercoat white G1600 at least 1 coats
(Recoatable time is at least 8 hours)
Remark - Repeat these two steps if tannin bleeding war upon the film of undercoat G1600
Topcoat
Can be apply topcoat with Toa Enamel Paints or Supershield Timbershield.
Recommendation
The temperature of the substrate should be minimum 10 ํC and at least 3 ํC above the dew point of the air, temperature and relative humidity measured in the vicinity of the substrate. Good ventilation is required in confined areas to ensure correct drying.
